The Lonely Side of Cyberspace

Since the mid-90s, Cyberspace, or rather the internet itself, has opened doors of education, interaction, entertainment and sales to the world; But with all good things... there is the Dark/Sad/Lonely aspect to the internet. Perusing through the world wide web over the years, I've come to realize, as have most surfers, that the web has single handedly prevented more teenagers from getting laid then Star Trek.

Massively Online Multiplayer games, or MMO's, are the primary culprit; giving boys and girls an alternate "universe" to live in. Instead of forging through the new world this band of subscribers have avoided the uncomfortable "people" situations that are required in, Getting a Job, Going on Dates, Meeting and Talking to Physical People.

But MMO's are not the only case against the Internet; infact websites like Bored, Fark, Digg and Myspace (< and its various clones) perpetuate the descent of the New-Generation. Like MTV, the X-games, Pot and the Beatles in generations past; The Internet is this generations addiction. Sit at a computer and find something to do, boredom is now created to allow us to entertain ourselves on the internet.

So? Is the Internet Bad? Absolutely not! The Internet is the greatest creation since the Radio, for means of access to information. People now everywhere, rich and poor alike, can "log on" and can Google recipes and questions. But again moderation is key; we now live in a world where turning on the TV is an accepted substitute for staring at a computer monitor for hours.

The 16-bit Era... Top 13

Ok, I know I said that the next Top 13 would deal with Food of some kind, after much soul searching I decided I'd hold off on that for later. For now we're dealing with the Top 13 Video Games from the 16-Bit Era; thats the Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis and the like.

  • #13 : Starflight - Genesis; features a massive galaxy with hundreds of stars to explore.
  • #12 : Gunstar Heroes - Genesis; What run-and-gun games are all about.
  • #11: Super Metroid - SNES; "Lateral Thinking of Withered Technology".
  • #10: Star Fox - SNES; First practical demonstration of 3D graphics on a console.
  • #9: Doom - SNES/32X; Oh, Come on its Doom for cryin' out loud, it is the first major first-person shooter success story.
  • #8: Mortal Kombat - SNES/Genesis; What can you say about a game that almost single-handedly created the ESRB rating system?
  • #7: Earthbound - SNES; Ranks up there with the other two RPG heavyweights of the SNES, Final Fantasy 3 and Chrono Trigger.
  • #6: Donkey Kong Country - SNES; My six-year old niece played and loved this game, it sold eight-million copies, talk about a paradigm shift in thinking compared to the NES Donkey Kong.
  • #5: Final Fantasy 3...6? - SNES; Hands down the best RPG and FF game in the series... thats right not just in the 16bit ear, but in the whole freakin' series!
  • #4: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - SNES; I don't really have to say anything about this game... it has all the coolness of the original times ten.
  • #3: Sonic the Hedgehog 2 - Genesis; Arguably the best Sonic game on the Sega Genesis, easily sold over six-million copies during its tenor.
  • #2: Super Mario World - SNES; Besides selling over twenty-million copies, Mario was one of the best games to be released for the Super Nintendo.
  • #1: Tetris - Gameboy; I know it might be a disappointment, but a game which sells over thirty-three million copies and has been played by nearly everyone has earned the number one spot.
Extremely Honorable Mention - [ Chrono Trigger(snes) ]

Now I know! Chrono Trigger should've been on that list, if not in the number one spot itself; But I didnt want the list to be bogged down with just RPG's. Final Fantasy 3/6 sums up the Role-playing experience nicely and really Chrono Trigger is in a league of its own, you really can't compare it to any game on that list besides Final Fantasy... Maybe Earthbound.

So there you have it, the Top 13 16bit Era video games, if you don't own them, you should; if you haven't played them, you should; if you've never even heard of them, you're an idiot. Keep checking in, for now, I will continue to remain diligent my friends; for tomorrow remains another day and who am I, but a Wookie on the Millennium Falcon.

One Word... ThunderCougarFalconBird!

Also known as "Why Futurama is one of the coolest cartoons ever?"

Futurama is an animated production, created and produced by The Simpsons creator, Matt "kickass" Groening. Focusing on the character Philip J. Fry being frozen for a thousand years (you'll have to watch the episode: The Why of Fry, to learn why.), upon being thawed-out Fry is probed and prodded before being given a mandatory job assignment. Which being only qualified for one job his entire life (delivery boy) Fry escapes the Cryogenic Lab and makes his way to the underground ruins of old New York.

Ok, so if that isnt cool enough for you, he runs into a Gambling, Alcoholic, Whore mongering, Cigar smoking Pimp Robot, named Bender Bending Rodriguez; But his friends call him Bender for short.

Still not convinced Futurama is the coolest?

Well get this, Fry and Bender are being chased by a large-rack, one-eyed alien chick named Turanga Leela; did I mention the head of president Richard Nixon is also after them? Sure, sure, that may not be quite enough for you, well wait until the fourth episode of the series... wait until Zapp Brannigan, think Captain Kirk with no people skills, but still retains all the pent-up boning urges.

Not counting the number of awards the show has won, including Emmy Awards for Outstanding Animated Program in 2002 for the episode Roswell that Ends Well; which I should mention features Fry going back in time and killing his grandfather and inadvertently performing the horizontal rump, making Fry his own grandfather.

NOT COUNTING ALL OF THAT. The show has THE most well formed and excellent Voice Cast, ranging from the talents of Billy "Ren & Stimpy" West, John "Gears of War" DiMaggio to even Katey "Peg Bundy" Sagal.

So is Futurama the best Animated program of all time? Thats debatable. But what isn't is that Futurama is 10 and 1... being cancelled by backwards network executives definitely wasn't cool.

Looky look what we got here!

Ok, so for those of you not in the "know", Bas Rutten is one badass fighter; having 28 wins and only 4 losses, he was featured predominantly in the Pancrase and UFC during the 90s. Bas has also done a couple self-defense instructional videos, my favorite was the Lethal Street Fighting (look it up on YouTube.).

Memorable Quote: (while slamming head on table) "--Don't you ever due this!"

His videos are very informative and he gives some great techniques if you're ever in a bar room scuff or even just on the street. Be forewarned Bas adds his own set of sound effects at various points of the video... its hard not to chuckle a little.

Quirkiness aside, Bas' return to the ring in 2006 was an awesome fight against Ruben "Warpath" Villareal; something else to checkout on YouTube.

The self-defense and instructional clips are full of hours of entertainment, even if you're not into fighting, they're completely enjoyable anyway.

The Next Scientology

During my daily rummaging through the massive void that is The Internet, I've come to discover a great deal of information about Scientology. Believing this cult to be a religion is ludicrous in every form of the word; and being another Hollywoodland fad, my investigative instincts have lead me to Wiki.

I began my research with brief memories of a Cult Movement in California, years ago; digging a little deeper I discovered,
Raëlism. It turns out that these bunch of "followers" believe in, Free and Open Sex, Cloning and that on the day of the Apocalypse, "extraterrestrials" will arrive on Earth and reveal the truth.

On the flip side, a few tapes surfaced back in the early 90s from one of these Raëlian Seminars, featuring couples having sex in tents... in tents... also could be referred to as Orgies. Apparently this is catching on... don't know about you but I don't really need to go to a seminar to get my horizontal bump on.

So, is
Raëlism the next Cult to catch on? Well considering that the main website Rael.org is featured in thirty-seven (37) different languages; I'd say this thing has alread caught on. It's numbers may be low and the media may not have investigated this to the level here, its only a matter of time before Scientology goes the way of the atari 2600.

I do agree with their dress code though.

The Robots will take over soon...

Ok, so I have completely been freaked out recently...

"Elmo has a funny joke, for Yoo!"

^ Sounds distinctively like they just altered Bill Cosby's voice for the recordings... thats right listen carefully now. Those damn waving arms are going to be giving me nightmares... *shudder* If this is the future of childrens toys, I can't wait to start having kids. I know damn well that thing wouldn't set foot in my house; remember the Simpsons episode, Treehouse of Horror III?

I can't believe I'm saying this but... I long for a simple Ball-In-A-Cup, after watching that video.
Now run along and be terrorized by my nightmares.

Don't Tell My Wife... Top 13

Well it's that time again, the time where I'd like to share some of the worlds greatest enjoyments to be had. But... shhh... lets keep it a secret between you and me; because our first edition of Top 13 is the top thirteen Centerfolds and Pornstars.
America has a long story of fine adult actresses; and Centerfolds helped keep our boys going in World War II. To say that pornography is unamerican... is like saying Apple Pie or Baseball is unamerican.

To those nay-sayers that complain that pornography leads to Chronic Masturbation and loss of eye-sight, I say this... you've got me and the Chronic Masturbation. But like the great comedian Louis C.K. once said; "[Masturbation] is just something men need to do to make sure we don't start murdering people--" I'm paraphrasing of course. My Point is, men need pornography; it has nothing to do with not loving our wives or girlfriends... its just nature taking its course.

  • #13 - Lanny Barbie; [Scorching hazel-eyed hottie.]
  • #12 - Ava Devine; [THE ONLY foul-mouthed Asian babe, classic Ava is full of silicon and dirty innuendo.]
  • #11 - Gianna Michaels; [Hardcore and well endowed, this wouldn't feel complete without her.]
  • #10 - Briana Banks; [A classic staple babe of the industry.]
  • #9 - Hannah Hilton; [Looking at this list I realized I needed some more blondes... so Hannah fits right in here, in the number nine spot.]
  • #8- Jesse Jane; [Another classic, platinum-blond; all I have to say is, I love Pirates.]
  • #7 - Carmella Bing; [Carmella's got it all and came out of no where.]
  • #6 - Ginger Lynn; [Classic 70's never saw a hotter blonde.]
  • #5 - Bea Flora; [Ok, this one's a personal favorite; hey I'm a T&A guy and I've always had a thing for Bea.]
  • #4 - Jenna Jameson; [No matter where you go, you can't go wrong with classic Jenna.]
  • #3 - Nicole Graves; [Her name may not be familiar but Nicole is the pinnacle of what amazing is; either blonde or brunette, she does both and exceptionally well.]
  • #2 - Eve Lawrence; [Again a relative newer name in the industry; she isn't unheard of, with over 120 films under her... or would that be over her?]
  • #1 - Kelly Madison; [Some will definitely argue; wars will ensue! But as far as All Natural adult entertainers go... Kelly win's hands down; Not only is she Hot, but she's also one of the most successful.]

Now I don't want this to be an "Adult Oriented" website, so go and find material of these fine examples of goddesses on your own. I've compiled this list to the best of my abilities and with the most level-headedness as possible... but I will admit to the occasional personal favorite here or there.

Hinting at the next Top 13, it will definitely deal with a food of some kind... Candy, Soda, Fast-Food; something along those lines. For now, I will continue to remain diligent my friends; for tomorrow remains another day and who am I, but a pawn on the chessboard of life.
